FAQ

The challenge starts on 20th Oct 2016 and the final stage will come to an end by April 2017

The challenge is in 3 parts:
a. Application stage, that lasts a little over a month (20th Oct – 1st Jan, 2017)
b. Presentation, by selected teams during March 2017
c. Pre-incubation of the 10 best teams at Maker Village starting April 2017
Best prototypes at the end of the pre-incubation stage will be awarded cash prize – Rs.1 lakh per team

Till the end of the pre-incubation stage, the IP belongs to Bosch. If the team chooses to be incubated by Bosch at Maker Village, the
newly registered startup will own the IP. Bosch will have the first right of refusal of the emerging product/solution at the end of the incubation stage.

The teams with the best implementation of the solutions will be awarded cash prize and an offer to create a startup with seed capital from Bosch and incubation at Maker Village, Kochi

We understand that teams comprising of students from final year of engineering will be able to register the startup only after graduation/post-graduation. The winning teams will be declared in June 2017. Each team will have till 30th Sep 2017 to register the startup. Else, the prototype and other IP will belong to BOSCH Group

Bosch expects each team to work hard and achieve the goals they set out for themselves at the start of incubation. Withdrawal from the incubation programme will incur a penalty and is strongly discouraged.

Bosch will provide the necessary technical and business mentorship to the startup to succeed. There are uncontrolled market dynamics that can make technology or business viability untenable in the future.

The support available will be:
a. Introduction to VC funds
b. Bosch will provide an experience certificate to each member of the startup to support them to pursue a career in the corporate sector
